Why I made it

The good recommendations always get lost in chat

When I travel for work, the best recommendations usually come from somebody on the team who lives there or has been a few times. They send a great list, then it disappears into Slack or email.

I made Guiddr to give those recommendations a home. It is a city guide made by people you already trust, not another list based on thousands of anonymous star ratings.

How it works

Pick a city and see where your team would go

Places are grouped into useful categories like coffee, restaurants, bars and day trips. They also appear on a map, so you can see what is near the office, hotel or whatever else you are doing that day.

People on the team can add and manage their recommendations from a dashboard. The same setup works across different cities and languages, rather than being built around one destination.

  • Interactive city maps tied to recommendation cards
  • Curated coffee, food, nightlife, and day-trip categories
  • Team contribution and recommendation management
  • Support for different cities and languages

What I left out

It does not need every place in the city

Guiddr is not trying to compete with Google Maps or list every venue. A short list from people whose taste you know is often more useful when you only have a couple of days somewhere.

That keeps the app focused on the recommendation itself: what the place is good for, where it is, and why somebody on the team thinks you should go.
